Share your family’s story and preserve memories of Australia’s post-war migration.
You can help preserve your family’s migration story for future generations by linking it to an existing Bonegilla Identity Card. More than 50 years on, as those who passed through Bonegilla grow older or pass on, these memories risk being lost. Sharing your story ensures your family’s journey is remembered and becomes part of Australia’s lasting multicultural legacy.
Bonegilla Migrant Reception and Training Centre was the first home for more than 320,000 migrants between 1947 and 1971. Today, around 1.5 million Australians have a connection to the former camp. Each migration story is a valuable part of our shared history and deserves to be preserved and proudly shared to celebrate Australia’s multicultural identity.
